Frank 41: REVOK Interview Part 1

Representing the AWR / MSK / Seventh Letter crews, REVOK is arguably one of the best graffiti writers in the world. He brings a level of quantity and quality to his work that is paralleled by few other artists. He sat down with us for Frank Chapter 41: The Seventh Letter, to talk about his roots, joining up with other AWR MSK members, and keeping a high standard for his work.

Whether you’re a punk, skater, graffiti artist, musician, 
clothing brand, political activist, fine artist, or just a fan of a 
band, stickers have always been the perfect way to express 
oneself.

Starting in 1966 with Andy Warhol’s Banana sticker for the 
Velvet Underground “STICKERS” chronicles the 
development of the art form as it spans cultural and 
artistic genres of the last half-century. It documents 
the evolution of stickers from early Californian skate culture, the punk rock pioneers, 
early hip hop, techno/rave culture, graffiti, controversial politics,
right up to contemporary street & fine art. 
A large section focuses on non traditional sticker mediums, such as wheatpastes, 
tiles, mirror or anything else an artist chooses to work with that utilizes adhesive materials.
